Celebrating the reopening of non-essential retail

22 June 2021

Monday 12 April was an exciting day across the capital, as many businesses reopened their doors for the first time in months.

From new outdoor seating for restaurants and cafes to visits from VIPs, the City BIDs and Partnerships found lots of ways to mark the occasion.

It was fantastic to see so much activity across our City BIDs and Partnerships throughout the week, as we welcomed Lord Mayor William Russell to the EC Partnership, Fleet Street Quarter, Cheapside BA and the opening of our al fresco dining space in Aldgate Connect BID.

The Lord Mayor was snapped making purchases with his City Gift Card and speaking to business owners about their preparations for reopening. An image of the Lord Mayor in Cheapside with the new CEO of Fortnum & Masons also landed in the Daily Telegraph.

CBA look forward to welcoming the Lord Mayor to Cheapside businesses throughout June celebrating re-openings and launches.
