Every year, Cheapside BID kickstarts the festive fun in the city with the annual light switch on.
Funded by Cheapside Business Alliance, and delivered in partnership with the City of London Corporation, the Christmas light switch-on has become a staple of the Cheapside annual events calendar. The event welcomes residents, visitors, and workers to Bow Lane and St Mary-le-Bow for the festive celebrations.
In 2023, we were delighted to extend the lighting scheme, adding new immersive light installations at One New Change and Paternoster Square. Cheapside Business Alliance also welcomed the newly-appointed Lord Mayor & Lady Mayoress to switch on the lights. Following the switch-on event, we welcomed the local business community to an evening of food, drinks, networking and festive celebration.
