Upcoming Talks – Temple Bar Trust

Join Temple Bar Trust’s upcoming lectures and talks, taking place within one of our Cheapside icons, Temple Bar London.

These talks cover topics like architecture, urban design and built environment, and feature speakers from across the industry.

Our man in Prague….in Copenhagen….in Valetta…

Monday 20th October | 6:30 – 8:30pm

Nick Archer MVO, former UK Ambassador to Malta, Denmark and the Czech Republic, will speak on ambassadorial buildings and the role they have played in the past and how that role has evolved. The ‘Embassy’, the office, has gradually eclipsed the ‘Residence’, the seat of the grand Ambassador analogous with the town house of the nobleman.

Nick was lucky to have been posted to a series of fine architectural cities and his thoughts on the relationship of these important civic buildings to their hosts will be most enlightening. He is now Clerk of the Girdlers Company.
