Cheapside Business Alliance is partnering with the City of London Corporation, City of London Police, and Speedy Services to bring another Cycle Safety Pop-Up to Cheapside.
Join us on Thursday 16th April between 8:00-10:00am outside Mansion House for the latest Cycle Safety Pop-Up. This 2-hour activation will provide free bike checks and repairs, bike marking, as well as offering resources, guidance, and recommendations for cyclists in the City.
This event is free to attend and does not require registration, just come and drop by.
Activities Include:
Free Cycle Checks & Minor Repairs
Sponsored by Cheapside Business Alliance, Bikeworks will be on standby with a team of bike mechanics to help with all your cycling needs. Feel free to bring your bike along for any check-ups and minor fixes.
Cycle Security Bike Marking
The City Police will be available to provide advice and apply a neat visible blue BikeRegister ID etch on your bike. This means it will be registered to your name, making it easier for you to be reunited with your cycle in the event of theft.
‘Exchanging Places’
Delivered by Speedy Services & City of London Police, ‘Exchanging Places’ is an interactive experience that allows cyclists to experience what it is like to be in Heavy Goods Vehicle Driver and see themselves from the perspective of a driver. The activity aims to improve awareness and ensure cyclists stay safe when riding close to these large vehicles.
If you can’t join us, remember:
- If you live, work or study in the Square Mile, you can get free cycle skills training from expert instructors.
- If your business transports goods by cargo bike and you are interested in receiving cargo bike rider training, the City Corporation provides free City & Guilds ‘Assured’ cargo bike rider training, including 1-1 cycle skills training.
- Businesses and residents in the City of London can benefit from joining the Zero Emissions Network (ZEN). For example, workplaces can apply for a grant of up to £2,500 towards the cost of a cargo bike, to assist with decarbonising their business.
