Join us for the inaugural Cheapside Climate Mini-Symposium, celebrating this year’s Earth Day theme, “Our Power, Our Planet”!
Taking place on Thursday 30th April from 11:45am – 2:00pm at Buzzacott, this event aims to bring together local ESG, sustainability and CSR professionals, as well as SMEs and business leaders to network, share best practice, and begin to establish Cheapside as a centre for climate-forward thinking within the City of London.
The event will mainly consist of a series of 3 green energy-focused presentations, where you will be able to discover actionable and practical insights for you and your business.

Learn more about the evidence base, as well as the key collaborative actions needed to deliver a net zero Square Mile in the next 15 years, with a particular focus on buildings and energy systems. - “Our power, Our Planet: turning commitments into climate action”
Kat Thorne, Responsible Business – Environment Lead at Eversheds Sutherland
Kat will present a short overview of Eversheds Sutherland’s sustainability journey, what they’ve learned across their international offices, and share practical, transferable actions for businesses. - “Supporting SMEs on their decarbonisation journey”
Dr Maria Spyrou, Director – Sustainable Cities & Workplaces at Turner & Townsend
Maria will share her experience working on the Mayor of London’s Business Climate Challenge, focusing on the programme’s design, outputs, and key learnings from supporting SMEs across the city. She will highlight practical quick wins and immediate actions organisations can take to improve their data quality and reduce their emissions today. Maria will close by exploring what a future iteration of the programme could look like, and how the city can better support SMEs on their path to meaningful, sustained decarbonisation.
